The case of two American men accused of the stabbing death of another American man won't be tried until 2017.
Justice Jon Isaacs yesterday set a trial date of April 24, 2017 for the suspects Tyler Michael Valles, 19, of Key Largo, Fla., and Robert Francis Schwarz, 62, of Gaylordsville, Conn.
The men, who are each on $35,000 bail, pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter charge during an arraignment before Isaacs.
The body of 45-year-old Carl Yerger was discovered March 14, 2014 on the grounds of Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina.
Valles was a crew member on a boat that was docked at the resort and Schwarz was a guest of the boat's owner.
Yerger, of Ruscombmanor Township in Berks County, Pa., was married with two young sons. He reportedly had come to The Bahamas on a fishing trip with his best friend and business partner.
Yerger co-owned a successful milling business and was president of his local youth league, where he coached baseball and basketball.
