Shopping for appliances online can be risky business for Bahamians, with a number of caveats to be mindful of when shopping.
Dorothea Rae, Vice-president and General Manager of Geoffrey Jones & Co. Ltd., warned of the many pitfalls awaiting the unwary online shopper, following the announcement by BrandsMart USA of a strategic partnership with PuntoMio that will allow Bahamians to shop via an international version of the BrandsMart website, with prices in local currency quoted inclusive of taxes, duty and delivery to The Bahamas, as reported in The Guardian last week.
"We've had some horror stories," said Rae of customers who purchase appliances overseas.
