Grand Bahama will be the venue for prime time golf next weekend, on June 6-9. The Bahamas Golf Federation (BGF) has scheduled its National Amateur Open tournament for the Reef Golf Course at Grand Lucayan Bahamas in Freeport, Grand Bahama. Tournament coordinator Carlton Harris has informed that the event will begin at 12 noon on Friday, June 6, with a progressive start. From June 7-9, the start will be progressive as well but the time will be earlier, 8 a.m.
According to Harris, the categories are regulars, seniors, ladies and super seniors.
"There will be daily gross and net prizes per category and each overall winner will get a crystal souvenir and earn automatic qualification for the national team," said Harris.
Other than Harris (727-4654) who is based in Grand Bahama at the BGF Headquarters at the Ruby Golf Course, Oswald Moore (357-4700/322-4588) can be contacted.
The four rounds at the Reef Course follow the initial qualification event, held earlier this month at the Lyford Cay Golf Club.
The gross and net finishers from the Lyford Cay Tournament are listed with this article.
