5th Edition of Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase to Visit Bahamas again in June

Nassau, Bahamas - Bahamas FilmInvest International, Coordinator of the Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase, today released the titles of films selected to be featured in the 5th edition of the Film Showcase, scheduled for the month of June at Galleria Cinemas.
Owen Bethel, President of Bahamas FilmInvest International, confirmed that in addition to the 22 full feature films, documentaries, animations and children's films included in the regular Showcase, due to the 40th Anniversary of Independence of The Bahamas a further 7 films have been specifically selected in recognition of this...

Track Road Theatre (TRT) and No Budget Productions (NBP) present “Affliction”, a short film that follows Noah, Sidney and Emily, who are searching for food and clean water, while trying to avoid being quarantined or coming in contact with this deadly strain of dengue fever, which causes mind-bending pain, delusions and fits of rage.
On the heels of Collage Entertainment’s “Get Charlie” and the emergence of two Bahamian television shows, “Gippy’s Kingdom” and “It Takes a Village”, “Affliction” continues to feed the hunger that Bahamians have to see their own stories on the big and small screens.
In late 2011, TRT approved a co-production with No Budget Productions that matched their mission of commitment to community and industry. By partnering to produce “Affliction” on a micro-budget, TRT says it is explicitly exploring the commercial options for making film a viable local career choice. From local showings to festivals to video on demand, one of TRT's main goals is to see what works and why, and then share what they learn with the burgeoning local film community

Freeport, Bahamas - The third annual the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) On Location: Grand Bahama Island dates have been announced! The film festival will run in Freeport from October 24 - 27th, 2013. Organizers have expanded the film competition and are calling for original Bahamian films nationwide for competition in three categories: High School, College and Open.
The Bahamas High School Film Competition is open to every high school student who is a resident of The Bahamas and between the ages of 14 and 18 years on the 1st August 2012. The Bahamas College Film Competition is also open to every
