New Youth Ambassadors Appointed by Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture, Division of Youth, has announced the appointment of new members to the National Youth Ambassadors Corps. The selection process, which included a competitive application and interview stage, identified young leaders known for their commitment to youth service and their experience in promoting youth initiatives on both local and international levels.The newly appointed Youth Ambassadors will represent The Bahamas at various national and international forums, advocate for youth development, and participate in initiatives aimed at fostering positive change within their communities.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture, Mrs. Roselyn Dorsett-Horton, addressed the new appointees and highlighted the significance of their roles. "This ambassadorship presents numerous opportunities, and we expect you to make the most of them," she said.

The Youth Ambassadors, who will serve from 2024 to 2026, will represent and advocate for Bahamian youth, including participation in international organizations such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth, and CARICOM.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Labour and Public Services Minister Pia Glover-Rolle chose not to respond directly to Bahamas Public Service Union (BPSU) President Kimsley Fergon's claims that recent salary increases are not enough to contend with the cost of living.

She did, however, affirm her commitment to communicating with workers to address any issues or concerns.
