Madea jumps into action when her niece, Shirley, receives distressing news about her health. All Shirley wants is to gather her three adult children around her and share the news as a family. But Tammy, Kimberly and Byron are too distracted by their own problems: Tammy can't manage her unruly children or her broken marriage; Kimberly is gripped with anger and takes it out on her husband; and Byron, after spending two years in jail, is under pressure to deal drugs again.

What makes this show different from any other Madea movie? Because to me all of them are the same.

I’m not a big Tyler Perry fan. I will be honest with you. I did go into this movie with all my reservations dismissed though, only to have them verified and solidified as to why the Madea series and related stories are just not for me.
The premise of this outing was that Shirley (Loretta Devine) found out she was terminally ill and wanted to gather her immediate family to share the news.
That family is her daughters, Tammy (Natalie Desselle) and Kimberley (Shannon Kane) who have bitter blood between them, her son, Byron (Shad ‘Bow Wow’ Moss) and Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis), her sister.
The rest of the cast includes the daughter’s husbands, Harold (Rodney Perry) and Calvin (Isaiah Mustafa), Byron’s love interest and baby-mama, Renee (Lauren London) and Sabrina (Teyana Taylor)-respectively, Madea and Uncle Joe (Tyler Perry for both), Cora and Mr. Brown (Tamela J. Mann and David Mann).
The story plods along at a pace to allow sub-plots to flesh out for the bigger picture and it does an alright job with that but the movie really felt like it went on much too
