The oldest Roman Catholic Church on the island of the Bahamas.
The foundation stone of St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church on West Hill Street in Nassau, was laid in 1885 under the supervision of the resident priest, Father O'Keefe. The church was consecrated by the Archbishop of New York Michael A. Corrigan in 1887
