The BFSU is the union for all persons who are full time and part time employees below the grade of Assistant Manager of any Financial Institution licensed by the Central Bank of the Bahamas, Securities commission, Registrar of Insurance and the Financial & Corporate Service Providers Act 2000 in the Bahamas.

The Principal aim of the BFSU is to regulate relations between its members and their employers or employers? associations. It shall also be the aim of the BFSU to ameliorate the working conditions of all its members, and to obtain for its members social standing. The BFSU declares that it will do its utmost to enhance the right of all its members.

As a democratic union, which takes its authority from its members, the BFSU will if required hold consultations and collaborate with other trade unions in all that is of national interest and for the common good of its members.

The BFSU believes in Industrial Democracy, which can be best achieved through Free Collective Bargaining.
