JUNKANOO SUMMER FESTIVAL 2019

As in previous years, Junkanoo Summer Festival will incorporate all aspects of Bahamian culture including musical performances, food, heritage games, a kiddie corner, authentic Bahamian arts and craft and major rush outs from A and B groups of Junkanoo.

Junkanoo Summer Festival is a staple for both locals and visitors to The Bahamas. We invite our visitors to come join us and experience true, true, Bahamian culture!
Tourists are often shuttled to Arawak Cay from various properties on New Providence and Paradise Island through complimentary transportation provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation. Visitors are encouraged to inquire at the hotel property they are staying at to see if this service is available.
This year’s theme is, “Celebrating The Bahamas: We’re more than sun, sand and sea”, and each week the culture of different Islands Of The Bahamas will be displayed.
The themes for the various weeks are:
July 20: Long Island, Exuma, MICAL
July 27: Cat Island, MICAL and San Salvador
August 3: Andros and Eleuthera
August 10: Berry Islands, Abaco and Bimini
Throughout the festival, there will be performances by Shadow Band; Sweet Emily; Synergy Band; All for One band; Blue Connections Band; Sky Juice Band; Grove Quest Band; Nehemiah Hield; Fanshawn; Lady E; Patrick Carey; Gaiwin Clarke; Sweet Emily; Synergy Band; Q-Pid; Rhythm and Youth Band; Royal Bahamas Police Force Band; K.B.; Geno D; Keisha Poitier.
There will be electrifying Junkanoo performances from Fancy Dancers, Music Makers, Roots, One Family, Colours, The Original Congos, Valley Boys, Saxons, Body of Christ and Conquerors For Christ. Major sponsors of Junkanoo Summer Festival include Rev, 700 Islands, Guardian Group of Companies and Kalik.
