3rd Annual Classical Indian Music School Hosted by Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas

Saturday 23rd March 2019  4:00 PM

This is a rare opportunity to study directly with acclaimed musicians and performers of North Indian classical music, who also each have extensive teaching experience. Join Pooja Goswami Pavan and A. Pavan to learn the foundational concepts of voice, raga, melodic form, tabla, and time measures.

You will experience vocal lessons, exercises and group performance of bhajans, or kirtans. The course will focus on teaching how to use the voice as a principal instrument and how to tune the ear to the source of deep enjoyment provided by North Indian raga music for over 2,000 years. In addition to a strong focus on voice, you will have the opportunity to take tabla lessons directly with A. Pavan.

This course is open to all levels of students, including beginners. Bringing your own instrument is welcome, but not required.
