YIN

Friday 9th November 2018  6:00 PM

Art exhibition 'YIN' opens Friday, 9th November 2018, at Hillside Studio. The collection of works honours the energy of the Divine Feminine produced by five female artists based in Grand Bahama: Chantal Bethel, Claudette Dean, Laurie Tuchel, Del Foxton, and Paula Boyd Farrington.

Works include homages to the empowerment of women as vessels of love, healing, and transformation, contemplations on reverence and wonder for Mother Nature and the feminine role as guardian of the sacred, gatekeeper to the manifest world, tributes to the wisdom and beauty of women in every phase of life, art celebrating sisterhood and solidarity, and musings on the unapologetic teeming life of nature as celebration of growing new gardens of balance and harmony.

A variety of mixed media pieces, oil paintings, assemblage, handmade paper works and sculptures, collage, and acrylic works will be exhibited beginning Friday evening, 9 November 2018. The artists will be on hand for the November 9th opening from 6 to 9 pm, along with live music by Grand Bahama jazz singer, Shelley Carey-Moxey.

A walkabout with the artists is scheduled at Hillside House on Saturday, 10th November 2018, from 10 am to 2 pm. The art will be on view from 9 November to 30 November 2018.
