The idea for the Mix n' Mingle event came about as I realized that there are not many events where Junkanooers can come together and enjoy each other's company away from the competitive atmosphere of the parades. Thus, a series of events has been planned where the various sections of different groups can come together and enjoy themselves in a fun and relaxed atmosphere while being able to meet and greet each other and build the bonds of camaraderie.

In addition to being an event where we can all get together and enjoy ourselves, each section that is invited will be able to sell a limited amount of tickets with all of the proceeds from those tickets sales going directly into their Treasury!

The first of these events will be held on September 28 at the Rooftop Lounge with all of the major choreography sections being invited as special guests and the Junkanoo community at large is also invited to come and be a part of this event. Music will be provided by myself (DJ Turbulence), DJ Tank, DJ Smiley, and DJ Baby Lion.

The term "Junkanoo tribalism" is often used to describe the manner in which persons from different groups tend to act towards each other! Let us change the culture and come together and have a good time while showing people that we can come together and have a great time!
