Developing Managerial Effectiveness (Bahamas)

Monday 19th February 2018  9:00 AM

Hosted by Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business & Management

To be successful, organizations need to have both effective leaders and effective managers. Whereas leaders need to be focused on moving the organization forward with inspiring visions and the ability to influence people to believe in and work towards achieving those visions, managers are required to keep the organization running efficiently. To do this, they have to be effective at analyzing information and making the best decision in light of what they know.

Managers must therefore have the capacity to think of their organization in broad terms and make the best decisions to achieve agreed goals and objectives. They need to be willing to take responsibility, make decisions and stand accountable for the outcome whether good or bad. In short, they need to be able to get things done, on time and under budget. Equally important they need to be consistent and to be known for being results focused.

This two day programme is therefore designed to help new managers build their capacity in functioning successfully in their new role. In addition, it will provide a guide for individuals who are preparing themselves to enter that role in the near future. Participants will work in teams and on their own. As such they will be able to receive feedback and guidance both on an individual basis and as part of a team.
