The mother of handbag designer Harl Taylor struggled to maintain her composure yesterday as she took to the stand for the retrial of the man accused of murdering her son.
Jurors heard testimony from several witnesses yesterday, including Mrs Beverly Taylor, the mother of the deceased.
Troyniko McNeil, the son of Mr Taylor's former business partner, is accused of murdering the 37-year-old handbag designer who was found dead in his bedroom at Mountbatten House, on West Hill Street, with multiple stab wounds on November 18, 2007.

A jury has convicted Anthony Penn of the sexual assault of a 21-year-old woman on April 25, 2011.
Prosecutors alleged that Penn burglarized the woman's home, robbed her at gunpoint and raped her.
Penn, who denied the allegations, remained silent and did not call any witnesses on his behalf.
The woman claimed that Penn broke into her New Providence home, placed a gun to her head and forced her to have sex with him while her twins slept in the same bed.
The woman said she grabbed the gun after Penn placed it on a pillow. She pulled the trigger and to her astonishment learned it was toy.
Senior Justice Jon Isaacs sentenced Penn to 25 years in prison for the rape and armed robbery. He was sentenced to 10 years for burglary. The sentences are to run concurrently.
Isaacs told Penn, who had previous convictions of a similar nature, that he hoped he would learn his lesson on his release from prison.
Anthony Delaney and Koschina Marshall are the prosecutors.
Terrell Butler appeared for Penn.
