(VIDEO) Bahamas International Cultural Festival 2010
Nassau, Bahamas - The
15th annual Cultural Festival took place October 16th and 17t at the Botanical Garden in Nassau. The Bahamas Weekly News Team
was on hand to cover the opening festivities on October 16th. We are
pleased to present herewith exciting video footage of the cultural festivities
along with interviews with Hon Brent Symonette, Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs and ICF Chairman Janet Johnson.
Thousands attended
throughout the weekend to idyllic weather conditions.The event offered
locals and tourists the opportunity to get a taste of the countries
participating whether it be through food, drink, dance, dress or
products sold from the particular country.
Twenty-six countries were represented
and each of the countries vied for best booth. This year the overall
winner was Cuba...

Many things are discussed when talking about the Bahamas, such as, the
beautiful beaches, the delicious food and the friendly people; last year
a very talented group of young Bahamian men made their mark in an arena
most would find shocking. The Swiffz Dance Crew went to Las Vegas and
competed in the "World Hip Hop International DanceCompo 2010."
From
the creators of the T.V. show America's Best Dance Crew, this event
brings together the best dance crews representing countries from all
over the world. The smaller countries are normally dominated by the
larger countries, but upon the arrival of our Bahamian Crew, they became
the darlings of the compo and quickly befriended the crews of the other
nations. Earning the 38th place in the finals last year...
