Bristol Cellars and John Heath Jewellers partnered this past weekend to
bring to Grand Bahama,
'Damask.'
Damask was a four-part wine tasting, fashion and
jewelry show organized to not only showcase the four local businesses
and provide entertainment, but part proceeds from the event went to the Cancer Association of Grand Bahama.
Sally Vardaoulis, of Silver Cove Events explained that the four
entities came together and decided that in addition to providing Grand
Bahama with a tasteful, entertaining showcase of the latest fashion by a
local Bahamian female designer, and jewelry to assessorize the outfits,
wine to complement and the event location...

required to produce just one cotton t-shirt. The use of synthetic fibres
in clothing requires more carbon dioxide during processing than natural
fibres, and therefore speeds up the process of Global Warming. In 2008,
Canadians spent over $30 billion dollars on apparel, including footwear
and accessories, for men, women and children. Currently, just a small
fraction of that amount is spent on organic and sustainable, natural
fibres..."

Nassau, Bahamas - Under the theme
"Flowers
of The Caribbean", The Sir Victor (Bahamas) Heart Ball Committee jump started
their fund raising activities with their 5th Annual Tea Party & Fashion
Show. The festivities were held on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2:30 at
Government House.
The air was filled
with laughter, music by Gary "Super" Johnson, and the sweet aroma of teas,
flowers and sweet perfume. The guests were all elegantly dressed for the occasion.
The event was MC'd by Ms. Bodine Johnson and kindly supported by the Acting
Governor General Janet Bostwick.
This fun-filled
afternoon of elegance consisted of a fashion show, a hat parade and a table
decorating contest. Teas were provided by the Island Rose Teas
