ABOUT THE CHURCH
Located at Portland Boulevard, Twynam Heights, Nassau, Grace and Peace Wesleyan Church is a Society of the Free Methodist Church of North America. Grace and Peace believes strongly in fundamental Christian principles and morals and was founded in 1998 with the purpose of raising the standard of Christian living in the Bahamas.
The church enjoys a reverent thoughtful worship, where one can listen for the ‘still small voice’ of the Creator and members & followers may escape to the refuge of tranquility from a week of confusion. The evangelistic outreach programme includes regular and routine neighborhood witness & walk-about as well as visitation & luncheons to senior citizen homes and hospices. We welcome you.

We the membership of Grace and Peace Wesleyan Church, have organized a one-of-a-kind event that offers wholesome, Christian entertainment targeting the young and not-so-young alike, throughout the island of Nassau.
This event takes the form of a ‘Drive-Thru’ and caters solely to vehicular traffic on the grounds of Grace and Peace church. It depicts the life and ministry of Jesus displayed in a variety of different paintings & scenes for public viewing and enjoyment. It is intended to inspire renewed interest and meaningful reflection on the impact that Christ had on people of his time and how His life, death and resurrection impacts our lives today. The event is scheduled to be held for 6 nights, April 6th – 11th 2012, between the hours of 7:30pm – 10:00pm.
Imaginative, artistic, creative, designs and decorative paintings with many different themes, displayed under numerous tents and presented by many participating schools throughout Nassau, is position to capture a viewing audience while promoting and fostering a greater awareness of Jesus Christ. Prizes are being awarded to schools for first, second, third, fourth & fifth place winners.

Murder trial delayed
A murder case failed to start yesterday because the defendant's lawyer was involved in another murder trial.
Lemuel Mortimer is charged with the March 2004 shooting death of Jason Bain, also known as "Fat Head", at Kemp Road.
His case was scheduled to go to trial before Senior Supreme Court Justice Jon Isaacs. However, the trial could not proceed because Mortimer's lawyer, Richard Boodle, is representing another client in another trial before Justice Vera Watkins.
Isaacs scheduled a status and fixture hearing for January 13, 2011.

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Northern Star Burial Society, a special Mass of Thanksgiving was recently held at Saint Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Mastic Point North Andros.

First Agriculture Bible College opens in Andros

FOR individuals living on the island of Andros seeking to pursue tertiary education, traveling to the capital city is no longer the only option.
With the introduction of the Agriculture Bible College, the first of its located in Johnson's Bay, South Andros, individuals will have the opportunity to further studies.
Agriculture Bible College was founded by retired Pastor Jeremiah Duncombe. It is supported by a non-profit organisation called the City of Refuge as well as the Seventh Day Adventist church. As the name indicates it has a bend towards agriculture and bible.

Murder case discharged
A judge yesterday directed a jury to acquit three men of murder.
Prosecutors alleged that Michael Beckford, Cravon Lewis and Kenray Rigby killed Michael Knowles, the groundskeeper at Born Again Deliverance Church, on January 19, 2006. They were also accused of robbing church members during a prayer meeting.
Justice Vera Watkins also told the jury to acquit Beckford of the robbery charge.
The jury is expected to deliver a verdict tomorrow on the robbery charge against Lewis and Rigby.
According to the prosecution, all three men placed themselves at the crime scene in their statements to police.
