ALMOST instantly, when the old church organs strikes up, the guitarist picks the sultry strings, and the singer begins the first verse: "Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish, come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel. Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal", a spirit of triumph and upliftment materialises.

5,400 BEC customers disconnected
The majority of residential consumers who were assisted by the Bahamas Electricity Corporation's (BEC) two reconnection initiatives over the past two years are again without power, according to State Minister for the Environment Phenton Neymour.
According to him, to date more than 5,400 residential consumers are living without electricity.
