Sir Arthur Foulkes reads One Bahamas message in GB

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama - Students from schools across Grand Bahama converged at Independence Park on Friday morning where Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes read the One Bahamas Day message, which was delivered on the island for the first time.
Students from various schools sang, danced and played instruments during the flag raising ceremony.
Sir Arthur said One Bahamas was celebrated in 1992 for the first time and it originated with a vision to promote unity, national pride and patriotism among Bahamians.
"This program seeks to bind us together, fostering unity amidst the wonderful diversity that is our Bahamas. In this we are a model for other countries, large and small," he said.

faces, it actually has another meaning altogether in England.

Anissa Smith Wins Double at Miss Talented Grand Bahama 12th Anniversary Pageant.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - After months of hard work,
training and pageant preparations a 15 year old student of St. Gorges High
School was crowned Miss Talented Grand Bahama 2010. The well attended event marked a first in the pageant's
history since the implementation of the Top Model Competition the top titles

A few days ago it was announced that the "Chinese" government approved the Baha Mar project.

It seemed that the Chinese government's Baha Mar Ambassador Mr. Stephen Wrinkle seemed to have forgotten that The Bahamas remains sovereign. Just because one foreign government approves one thing does not equate that The Bahamas will now approve the same thing! We are a nation of well-thinking people.

Mr. Stephen Wrinkle seemed to want to dance in the street with excitement of this news. However, as a young Bahamian I was offended. I elected certain leaders to make certain decisions for me, and none of them was Mr. ...

competitive
display of indigenous Junkanoo music, dance and festive costumes by
Primary and Secondary Schools of New Providence, North Eleuthera and
North Andros was sen in Nassau on December 8th. The ceremony opened in
Rawson Square and 22 schools  competed with 9 pre-school teams
