JBR started business in November of 1959, and two of the original partners, W. E. Lowe and Buck Johnson are still active in the business. Our business objective is providing customer service through dedicated employees. If we serve our customers well, they will continue to support us. We believe in knowing our customers personally, and meeting their every need.
Because of our commitment to service and our dedicated staff, we have not found "public advertising" necessary over the past forty years, and our business has consistently grown with each period.

JBR is the major supplier/manufacturer of concrete blocks in the Bahamas. Contractors know us as the "Basic Hardware Store" because we have everything in stock and plenty of it. We carry a full line of paint, tile, and the largest bolt and fasteners department in the Country.

TOPS is a wholly owned subsidiary of JBR. Tops opened to provide lumber and plumbing supplies to JBR customers. Because of the limited space at JBR, Tops operates in another location. The new division opened in 1983 and in very little time evolved from a sleepy little store to one of the largest lumber and plumbing outlets in Nassau.
