Centreville Optical, our parent company, began to offer quality optical products in a small office next to Dr. Rodgers’ office on 3rd Terrace in Nassau in 1985. We have changed locations twice in the past 30 years but many of our staff have remained with us throughout these changes, offering the same quality of service and years of experience to our customers. We opened our current location at Harbour Bay Shopping Plaza in November of 2000 and our second office in Freeport at Regent Centre West in 2001. In 2010, we officially changed our name to Bahamas Vision Centre. We offer our customers quality eye care, style, selection and value at both of our locations.
Our Doctors: Dr. Kenneth J.A. Rodgers, F.R.C.S.(C), D.A.B.O | Dr. Philip Bassett, BSC, MCOPTOM (UK)
Why Are Eye Exams Important?
Routine eye exams are important — regardless of your age or your physical health.
During a comprehensive eye exam, your eye doctor does much more than just determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. He or she will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
Also, eye doctors often are the first health care professionals to detect chronic systemic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
