Description

Founded in 1968 "to protect God's creatures in times of trouble on Grand Bahama Island," The Humane Society of Grand Bahama is a fully recognized, non-profit, charitable institution governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, dedicated to the eradication of animal suffering on our shores.

While focusing on the tragic feral dog/cat problem pervading our Island, we also deal with the abuse/neglect that can occur within the home through misguided concepts and assumptions as well as lack of education on the care and treatment of animals.
The Humane Society of Grand Bahama relies almost completely on public support in order to keep its doors opened and its programmes functioning.

The task at hand is both daunting and overwhelming and cannot possibly be accomplished to the point of making any meaningful difference without full community support.

Our business hours are as follows:
- Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm
- Opened Every Other Saturday
- Closed on Sundays

Emergency Lines: 242-727-2477 / 242-727-1390 / 242-727-4279
