Breezy Da Don – Back Like He Never Left
By The Vendetta Group
Email: vendettagroup242@gmail
In recent years, Rap Kreyol has grown to a respectable sub genre in the Hip-Hop community. This movement has been spearheaded by rappers such as Wyclef Jean, Mecca Grimo, and Billy Blue. Now added to that list is local Haitian-Bahamian rapper Breezy Da Don. The young Kreyol rapper may sound like a brand new name to many, but in the local Haitian community Breezy is hailed as an underground hero due to his many headlining performances at Haitian Flag Day, and his performances at many Kompa and Rap Kreyol concerts. The young Rap phenomenon was born in the Bahamas to Haitian parents who left Haiti to seek a better future for their offspring.
As a young child, Breezy was sent off to Atlanta to live with his father where he was adorned the name Breezy by his dad for his quick witted personality and laid back attitude. It was in Atlanta where he first started to dabble in Hip-Hop, and learned to cherish the art form. Regrettably, due to circumstances beyond his control Brezzy was forced to return back to Nassau. While in the land of his birth, he found himself torn when it came to his passion for rap. He was not sure whether to rap in English or in Kreyol his second language. After many months of kicking flows with family and friends and in different rap ciphers, he realized that he could just blend the two languages in a hype, but smooth delivery which became his signature style.
After leaving high school, Breezy delved deeper into his craft. Slowly his following started to grow, and the massive crowd at the Haitian Flag Day requested him by name. His movement has suffered a slight slow down with his recent incarceration on drug charges, but he explains this was only a minor setback which he plans on dealing with quickly. Since his release, he has hit the ground running by signing up with local record label, 1st Class Sounds, which has launched his first two radio friendly singles “No More ft. D.I.V.A.” - produced by Renny Beatz/Davy DaDon, and “Show Your Crown”. Breezy Da Don definitely has got next, and will be one to look out for.

Last Week's Vendetta Report
In-Studio with El Padrino & Japanese
By: The Vendetta Group
Email: vendettagroup242@gmail.com
Local rap star turned international Hip Hop luminary El Padrino has hooked up with Latin American rap mega star Japanese to collaborate on a project. Over the weekend, the pair invited The Vendetta Group to sit in on their studio session in Stapleton Gardens at Polo’s studio to pay witness to the magic at work. Over the past five years, Padrino has proven himself to be an artist with a consistent hit list with such songs as “I’m From the 242”, “Worries in the Dance” and his current street banger “Duffels”. His unique sound and production skills have lead to the rejuvenation in the 242 Hip Hop arena and urban music scene. It should come as no surprise that the Kaos Records flagship artist buzz would attract the likes of Japanese.
Japanese was born in the city of Colon, Panama. He started rapping at the age of 20, and since then he has gone through many different styles of music, from Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Culture and Dance Hall. He also made collaborative tracks with some the best in the game such as Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Cuban Link, and Rick Ross to name a few. Now that he is in the Bahamas, he said he wanted to be paired up with one of the greatest the 242 had to offer and he was given our native son El Padrino. The pair in the studio had a natural chemistry and bounced ideas off of each other very easily. One by one they went through Padrino’s arsenal of beats which were all fire in their own right, but the duo was looking for that one beat that would pop out at them. Instantly, after listening to a dozen beats, the two looked at each other when a bass heavy dance track started to blare out the speakers. Padrino started to sing a melody and Japanese backed him up with his distinctive ad-libs. The two knew they had found that one beat they were looking for to place this hit song on.
A few minutes and a blunt or two later, the pair had a full concept and hook for the song. The newly formed song was to be called “Spanish Parade”. The track is set to be a radio and club banger. The release dates for the song are unclear for now, but be assured once it hits the airwaves it will be a dominating song. This song is a manifestation of the level to which the Bahamian hip hop movement has grown. We have gone international and are now poised to move into the Americas with a unique brand and style of Hip-Hop.
