My closest female friends are either just as terrified as I am or
consummate scholars who will probably be studying well into their
thirties which we all believe will prevent those oh-so-important

Olympic Torch Relay dress rehearsal takes place

LONDON - Today the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic
Games (LOCOG) is holding a full dress rehearsal to test the operations
around the Olympic Torch Relay - presented by Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and
Samsung. The rehearsal is taking place on the Leicester to Peterborough
stretch of the Relay route and is the culmination of the Olympic Torch
Relay test schedule. Previous tests have focused on torch performance,
hotel operations, desk top exercises and testing the vehicle convoy.

UNESCO President and Bahamian states man addresses Alma graduates

ALMA, Michigan -- Bahamian statesman and career diplomat Davidson Hepburn was invited to deliver the 2011 commencement address at Alma College and was presented with an honorary doctorate by the institution.

Dr Hepburn, who began his professional career in the English faculty at Alma College in the 1960s, received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree during the ceremony for around 300 graduation candidates.

The theme of Dr Hepburn's address was: "A reason for being."

He urged the graduates to look at fear in a positive light, develop self-confidence and not be afraid to dream.

The Ministry of Transport and Aviation confirms reported structural damages at the General Post Office on East Hill Street today. This resulted in falling loose concrete. Structural engineers from the Ministry of Works were immediately dispatched to investigate this incident and assess the extent of the damages.

A Bahamian attorney gave the opening speech at the annual conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) on Sunday in Dubai.
