A man previously convicted of house-breaking and stealing was yesterday charged in connection with a major house-breaking ring.
Emerson Hanna, 52, of Chestnut Street, was charged before Magistrate Ancella Evans-Williams with nine counts of house-breaking, eight counts of stealing and three counts of attempted house-breaking.
Police allege that Hanna carried out the thefts between November 3 and January 23.

BAHAMIAN lightweight boxing champion Meacher "Pain" Major hosted a Christmas party at Nassau Stadium, his way of giving back to the community that he grew up in.
Major thanked the sponsors, his parents Anthony and Patrice Major, other family members and friends, Paster Ivan Ford Butler, Charlie Major II and Michelle Brady, the newly appointed head coach of PACBO, Jeff Davis and Cato Ferguson.
"I want to thank all those who made a major contribution to making this event once again successful," Major said.
"I am forever greatful to God to have such supporting people in my life," Major added.
For the first time in over a year, Bahamian super featherweight Meacher 'Major Pain' Major will fight in front of his home crowd here in The Bahamas. Major, 18-4-1, is set to take on Cuban Alex Perez in an eight-round main event this Saturday at the Nassau Stadium. The show, which is geared to bring professional boxing back in The Bahamas, is being dubbed 'The Comeback' and is being staged by C & M Promotions.
Ryan 'Big Youth' McKenzie is scheduled to take on Colombian Alex Lubo in a six rounder, and John 'The Beast' Wesley is set to challenge Dencil 'Death' Miller in a four-round bout. A few amateur bouts are scheduled on the undercard. Popular Bahamian professional Jerome 'The Bronze Bomber' Ellis was also scheduled to fight on the undercard, but had to withdraw due to the death of his father. The show itself is set to get underway at 8:00 p.m. this Saturday.
