BLACK WOLF ENTERTAINMENT BRIDGES THE CULTURAL GAP
Rather than donning on the traditional Halloween costume this weekend concert goers can opt to attend the Halloween Jam Fest concert produced by Black Wolf Entertainment that will be held on October 30th 2011 at the Lion’s Club, Thompson Boulevard.
According to CEO of Black Wolf, George Laguerre, the concert will feature an impressive list of artists, among them are top Caribbean band Nu Look and widely popular rap kreole artist/actor Mecca aka Grimo.
Black Wolf a Miami based Promotions Company has teamed up with local promotions company Merzier Entertainment to produce this unforgettable night of music, the aim of which is to make a giant step towards easing the racial divide between Haitians and Bahamians. For too long he stated no one has really made any real effort to bridge the gap and find opportunities to share the music, the food, the culture of these two peoples accept at one or two annual events.”
“However, my team and I have scheduled another concert that will happen before the end of the year and a festival slated for some time next year featuring both Haitian and Bahamian foods, music, art and other forms of cultural expressions.”
Bringing the best of a number of genres of music together on one night, the Nu Look Band specializes in performing the sweetest in Kompa music, and also performs a variety of other genres, while Mecca will bring the best in rap and maybe a little spoken word as he is also well known for. Nu Look is based in New York comprises of people from the republic of Haiti and also persons born outside of the Diaspora with a deep love for the country of their parents, while Brooklyn born Mecca also of Haitian parentage resides in Miami.
Mecca, who calls the Bahamas his second home could hardly contain his excitement when quizzed about his upcoming performance in Nassau where he has a large following, “I have a passion for promoting positive lyrics and music and always look forward to the opportunity to encourage other Caribbean brothers and sisters to do the same.
I am always grateful for the response to my performances here in particular the last one” which was at a major benefit concert produced jointly by the government of the Bahamas and the Musicians and Entertainers Union for the Haiti Earthquake relief. “I appreciated all efforts that Bahamians made in that regard.”
Mecca went on to say, “It is disheartening to hear of the recent crime wave. I looked forward to positively impacting the lives of the audience at the Lion’s Club and the Bahamian people as a whole. My thoughts and prayers are always with you.”
Bryan Sainterose, another Black Wolf representative says, “Expect a great concert for this Halloween and look forward to Black Wolf continually producing top notch concerts in the Bahamas.”
Local band Nu-Stars will also be performing on this ticket.
