'Home Sweet Home' An Exhibition
June 20,2013
6:00pm - 8:00pm
Popopstudios, Chippingham
The public is invited to attend the opening of a new solo exhibition of watercolour paintings and architectural models entitled 'Home Sweet Home' by Bahamian artist Nastassia Pratt at Popopstudios at 26 Dunmore Avenue in Chippingham, Nassau.
Nastassia Pratt was born in Nassau, Bahamas. Her interest in art began during her high school studies at St. John's College, particularly in 2003 during the RBC Finco Summer Art Workshop when she was introduced to watercolor painting. This subsequently led to her studies in design at The College of The Bahamas' Associate's Degree in Architecture. She then continued studies in architecture at Ryerson University in 2005 where her interest in model-making began. An ongoing exploration of these avenues of creating has led her to her present position as a Curatorial Trainee at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas.

Twenty Years Later
TONIGHT Wednesday, December 19, 2012
6pm to 9pm
Popopstudios Gallery, 26 Dunmore Av., Chippingham
When hindsight is always 20/20, it implies a longing for things to have taken place differently. But this isnt the case with the rapid evolution of contemporary Bahamian art, which for the last 20 years has expanded the boundaries of how Bahamian artists define themselves and their practices.
Hoping to pay homage and expand this conversation, two contemporary abstract Bahamian artists, Toby Lunn and John Cox, reunite in the collaborative exhibition 20/20 opening next week at Popopstudios International Center for the Visual Arts.
For the pair who have known each other all of their lives the exhibition is not so much a retrospective imbued with finality but rather another significant milestone in the conversation theyve held with themselves and the wider art community since their first exhibition together in 1992 at the Bahamian Art Gallery in downtown Nassau.
At the time, with their understanding about art practices being shaped on a global scale through their studies abroad Cox at Rhode Island School of Design and Lunn at Maryland Institute College of Art the pair presented a wildly contemporary show ahead of their time.
2011 IBS Build-A-Bridge Challenge

The IBS Build-A-Bridge Challenge is a high school competition for 10 and 11th grade students across the country. The students are organised into school teams of no more than five members and a mentor teacher. Each team receives a kit of 300 popsicle sticks and school glue from which they must construct a bridge of no more than
