Eyeball to eyeball

As we all know, the Internet is indeed a great tool which has really revolutionized the way in which we all communicate today at the beginning of the 21st century. It really is quite amazing when you think about it, but I'm able to send my daily radio programs to radio stations all over the world with the click of a mouse. I record 10 "Time To Think" radio programs every two weeks in a private studio. I record in the morning on a Thursday. When the programs have been edited, the recording studio emails them to me. I listen to them to make sure they are okay, and then with a click of the mouse forward them to the radio stations who presently air the series.
One of these stations which presently airs "Time To Think" is Star FM in The Solomon Islands in the Pacific. Imagine that, with just the click of a mouse, my "Time To Think" radio programs are forwarded to The Solomon Islands way out in the Pacific. It really is quite amazing when you reflect on it. Yes, the Internet has revolutionized the way in which so many of us operate our business and everyday life.
However, as with just about everything, where there's a positive, in all probability one will also find a negative. And one of the most glaring negatives about the Internet, is that so many people do not appear to want to communicate one on one anymore. This to me is a big drawback to using the Internet as a means of communication. There are times when we all need to communicate with others eyeball to eyeball.
Yes, although millions of people are using technology today to communicate through emails, texts, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Etc.; I honestly believe, that it has caused person-to-person communication to decline, and this is not good. In other words, our so-call communication has become impersonal, and in so many cases rather shallow.
Yes, we are all indeed very pleased to embrace 21st century technology to assist us in communicating with people all around the globe, for personal and professional interactions. However, let's not forget, that in so many instances it's absolutely vital for us to have eyeball to eyeball communication. Let's stop being so very impersonal when it comes to interacting with each other.
o Think about it!
