HBO Latin America announced the premiere of the second season of the Emmy®-nominated HBO original series VICE on April 18th in the Caribbean. Shane Smith, founder of the taboo-breaking news media company of the same name, hosts the revolutionary news magazine series, smashing barriers of decorum to cover the kinds of stories often overlooked by mainstream media outlets.

With stories from Afghanistan to Greenland to Africa and beyond, VICE brings viewers some of the most compelling, entertaining and important news stories that often go unreported. Through this season’s 12 episodes, Smith’s expanded team of correspondents – including Thomas Morton, Suroosh Alvi and Vikram Gandhi, among other – will continue to deliver hard-hitting stories from some of the most dangerous places on earth.

Correspondents investigate a broad range of topics, traveling the globe to report on everything from rampant U.S. military waste and corruption in Afghanistan to extortion, torture and killing in Rio’s favelas, and terrorist training in Dagestan, using an immersive documentary style to bring a unique perspective to the events shaping the future. Other news stories this season include a catastrophic “Arctic Doom” as Greenland recorded its highest temperatures ever in 2013, and the resurgence of rhino-poaching and its trade from South Africa to Vietnam.

VICE is executive produced by Bill Maher, Shane Smith, Eddy Moretti and BJ Levin, with CNN's Fareed Zakaria serving as a consultant. The show takes its name from the leading youth entertainment company operating in over 34 countries, including vice.com, an international network of digital channels, a television production studio, a print magazine, a record label, an in-house creative services agency, and and a book-publishing division.
