A man stabbed a friend multiple times following a fight over a pool match, the court heard.

Adrian Evans yesterday pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Carl Swann in 2012. Swann was stabbed nine times during the attack, the court heard.

In accordance with a plea agreement, Justice Bernard Turner sentenced Swann to seven years in prison. Swann told the court yesterday he has forgiven Evans.

He wished him the best in life and shook his hand before he left the court's precincts. Attorneys Ian Cargill and Tai Pinder represented Evans.

In other court news, a 42-year-old man who admitted to receiving $18,000 worth of stolen pipes from the Water and Sewerage well field in 2011 was fined $600.

If Marvin Rolle doesn't pay the fine by March 18, he would spend two months in prison.

Justice Vera Watkins took Rolle's early admission of guilt and the nine months he spent on remand into consideration when passing sentence.

Rolle told police he hired out his truck and was paid $60 to move the stolen pipes from Larry Burrows' property in Coral Harbour to the scrap metal yard in Marshall Road.

He told Watkins that he stopped transporting items for pay after he was released on bail in June 2012. Attorney Ian Cargill represented Rolle.
