Lower parking rates at LPIA

Officials at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) have decreased the airport's daily parking rates.
Effective yesterday, parking fees dropped from $30 to $20 per day for premium parking at the airport-- 33% less than what drivers paid one week ago, according to a statement from LPIA.
Nicole Henfield, manager of parking and ground transportation at the Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD), said the fee reduction is a direct result of feedback from consumers.
"Earlier this year, we conducted surveys to determine what customers considered a fair market price to park in the short-term lots," Henfield said. "Participants rated their overall satisfaction with the parking experience at the airport and offered recommendations on pricing.
"An overwhelming majority of the 160 persons surveyed preferred a rate at or below $20. Based on these findings, we made the decision to reduce the daily rates in the short-term lots with the hopes of increasing traffic and generating more revenue."
A total of 625 parking spots in the U.S. Departures, International and Domestic Short-Term Parking lots will be offered at the new daily rate of $20.
Upgraded parking lots at LPIA (U.S. and International) include customer-friendly ticket dispensers with access for left and right-hand drive vehicles, assistance buttons at the ticket dispensers and stand-alone call stations where drivers can reach parking personnel 24 hours a day.
All other parking rates at LPIA, including per hour rates remain the same.
