Jonathan Jaffe is chip leader going in to Day 2 of the PCA 2014 $25k High Roller which kicked off today at noon. The 26-year-old - known as "Iftarii" online - is one of an elite crew of poker players that holds two WCOOP titles. His second came last September when he took down the Event #22 - the $215 NL Hold'em tourney - for $251,673. He also has more than $1.4 million in live tournament winnings.

Among those taking part today were Team PokerStars Pros Jason Mercier, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and George Danzer, COOP king Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb, Dan "djk123" Kelly and Anders "Donald" Berg. The popular event has beaten last year's record with at least 229 entries. There were 190 unique players and 39 reentries so far. xx players remain but players have until start of play on Sunday to buy in from scratch or re-enter.

Today’s field included Team PokerStars Pros Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Johnny Lodden (who was runner-up in the $2k NL), Nacho Barbero, Andre Akkari, Jonathan Duhamel, Angel Guillen, Humberto Brenes, Eugene Katchalov, Jake Cody and Team Online’s Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen and Alex "Kanu7" Millar. Also competing were last year's runner-up Vladimir Troyanovskiy. Smoe of the late starters in the star-studded field include Bryn Kenney, Ana Marquez, Chino Rheem, Ole Schemion and EPT London Super High Roller winner Martin Finger.

Those who have re-entered include 2012 PCA High Roller champion Alex Bilokur, Antonio Esfandiari, Steve O'Dwyer, Tony Gregg, Greg Merson, Sorel Mizzi, David Yan, Eli Berg, Igor Kurganov, PokerStars Team Online’s Isaac Haxton, Jeffrey Rossiter, Micah Raskin, Mike Watson, Philipp Gruissem, Scott Seiver, Simon Higgins and Steven Silverman. Last year’s event had 204 entries (161 unique players with 43 re-entries) and was won by Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst for $1,424,420 – a monster cash that made her the highest-earning female poker player of all time.
