A jury yesterday viewed crime scene photographs of a murder that occurred at Club Med resort in San Salvador in 2011.
Prosecutors allege that Rashid Dean, who worked in the laundry room of the hotel, stabbed his former girlfriend Oneika Johnson to death at her station at the resort's security booth on August 14, 2011.
Dean, who is on remand, has denied the murder charge at his trial before Justice Indra Charles.
Inspector Alfred Dean entered 52 photographs taken at the scene into evidence. The photographs were taken by Sergeant James Colebrooke, who is on sick leave.
The photographs documented the bloody scene inside the security booth, where Johnson's body was found on the floor between a refrigerator and a wall.
Her pants were unbuttoned, exposing her underwear, and a black-handled knife was under her leg.
Colebrooke photographed cuts on Johnson's arms, legs and chest. He also photographed a white van that was parked on the resort's property.
There were apparent bloodstains on the inside and outside of the van. Colebrooke swabbed the vehicle for forensic samples and photographed three fingerprints found on the outside of the van.
The case continues today.
