Sherman Ferguson and Thela Johnson allowed their bats to do all the talking this season, as both players were named top batters in the New Providence Softball Association (NPSA).

Ferguson, who plays with the Arnette's Sporting Lounge Hitmen, sent 11 balls over the fence of the 26 hits he had in total, and came across the home plate 37 times. He also drove in 26 runs. As for Johnson, the Lady Hitters' pitcher, she scored 30 runs, and had 35 hits including five home-runs. She had a batting average of .614.

With the league now into its championships, Ferguson may be able to add the championship Most Valuable Player (MVP) title to his collection. He and Johnson were the regular season MVPs. Ferguson beat out Alcott Forbes and Eric Johnson for the title. As for Johnson, the battle in the women's division was between her, Donette Edwards and Tyrice Curry.

Johnson won the most hits, most home-runs, most RBIs and most strikes awards this season. Scoring the most runs this season was Maryann Ferguson who had 37. Ernestine Butler-Stubbs had the best record from the mound, bagging 11 wins with just one loss this season. Johnson was second with eight wins and seven losses. Stealing the most bases this season was Jodei Clarke, Curry, Lashonda Bethel, Treika Munroe and Shonte Cargill, all with 11.

The most runs title, in the men's division, went to Ferguson. Ken Wood followed with 28 and Eric Johnson had 27. Forbes threw the most strikes, 101. The closest person to him was Jeffrey Woodside with 66. Forbes also had the best record from the mound,going 9-3, and he had the most innings pitched. The most base on balls, 15, were turned in by Lamar Watkins and Addie Finley had the most stolen bases, 11.

The pennant winners were the Hitmen in the men's division, and the Sharks in the women's division. The Hitmen closed with a 15-3 win/loss record. The AG Construction Buccaneers was the runner-up in the men's division with a 13-5 record. The Proper Care Pool Sharks and the Sigma Brackettes both closed with identical records, 16-4, in the women's division, but the Sharks were the pennant winners as they defeated the Brackettes in their head-to-head match-up.
