Poor treatment of horses

Dear Editor,
Tourists and residents are appalled at the sight of the surrey horses in Nassau. Their condition is deplorable and tourism will suffer in The Bahamas if something isn't done about these horses.
They are downtown and our visitors see the malnourished and abused condition of all of these horses. It is disgusting and needs to be addressed by the Ministry of Tourism or soon there will be a boycott.
The public relations of The Bahamas is already damaged and suffering with the unacceptable behavior at the immigration detention center with beatings and alleged rape. Then there is all the crime and murders - all unsolved with murderers out on bail. Those accused of murder should not receive bail.
Tourists being robbed all the time and the grossly unattractive downtown area. These situations are all going against anyone wanting to come to, or return to, The Bahamas. It's time to make some changes.
