BCPOU and PM meeting on BTC sale to Cable Wireless

Bahamas Communications and Public Officers Union executives at this minute have just entered into talks with Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham on the approaching sale of the Bahamas Telecommunications Corporation. BCPOU President Bernard Evans said that they expect to inform the nation's leader about the concerns the union's membership has with regards to the sale of the company and their understanding of what will be offered to the membership in terms
of severance packages for persons who wish to voluntarily leave the corporation ahead of what is expected to be a 30 per cent decrease in staffing levels.
