A jury on Monday cleared the second person accused of the murder of Marie Metellus during a home invasion robbery.

Duran Johnson was unanimously cleared of Metellus' murder in the course of a burglary and armed robbery on December 31, 2010.

Senior Supreme Court Justice Jon Isaacs last week issued a directed verdict against Johnson's co-accused Torraino Tucker after the prosecution offered no further evidence against him. Isaacs ruled that a purported confession by Tucker was obtained illegally.

Tucker and Johnson pleaded not guilty to the allegations. However, prosecutors withdrew the case against Tucker after the court ruled on legal arguments in the jury's absence.

Elliot Lockhart appeared for Tucker and Perry Albury appeared for Johnson. Sandradee Gardiner was the prosecutor.
