The prime minister did not have the authority to remove the name of a senior lawyer from the list of potential Queen's Counsel candidates, a judge has ruled.
Maurice Glinton, a lawyer of 28 years, applied for the Queen's Counsel appointment on August 18, 2009 on the suggestion of former Attorney General Sir Michael
Barnett. However, Glinton's name was no longer on the list of potential appointees by the time the prime minister forwarded the list to the governor general.
