Teen found guilty of attempted murder of US cop

A Supreme Court jury yesterday found 19-year-old Ebenezer Sherman guilty of the attempted murder of American cop John Casper.
Casper was shot during an armed robbery attempt in 2008.
The jury handed down a 7-2 guilty verdict. However, Sherman's co-accused, Bradley Saunders, 23, was found not guilty by a unanimous vote of the jury on the attempted murder charge.
Both men were found guilty of the attempted robbery of Joan Algios, Casper's friend.
Casper, a sergeant with the Bergenfield Police Department in New Jersey, was shot in the chest when he tried to intervene in a struggle over a purse between the two men and Algios.
