144 Haitian migrants caught in Exumas

Nearly 150 undocumented Haitian migrants were apprehended off the Exuma Cays over the weekend, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force(RBDF)reported.
According to the RBDF, marines from the HMBS Yellow Elder spotted the overcrowded wooden sloop 18 miles north of Norman's Cay around 10:35 a.m on Friday.
Officials said the marines boarded the vessel where they discovered 144 Haitian nationals, who were all said to be in fair condition.
The migrants were reportedly taken on board the military ship where they were transported to New Providence.
