B.W.A. makes $5,000 donation to the Bahamas National Trust

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- Bahamas Wholesale Agency (Freeport) Ltd. has generously made a $5,000 donation to the bridge project at Lucayan National Park. Wayne Russell, General Manager of B.W.A., made the cheque presentation to Karin Sanchez, Chairman of the GB Regional Branch of the Bahamas National Trust at B.W.A.?s Grand Bahama headquarters on Milton Street on July 31, 2009. Mr. Gary Wilfred Burrows, Sales Manager at BWA was also on hand for the presentation.

In making the donation, Wayne Russell said: ?We at B.W.A. and the brands we represent such as Kerrygold, Jumex juices, Festival cleaners, Arizona Iced Tea, McVities biscuits, Jergens lotions, OK flour and Ruth detergent, feel it is important to give back to the community. The president of our company, Mr. Jeffrey Robertson felt it was important to make a financial contribution towards the Bahamas National Trust and the bridge at the Lucayan National Park was a natural choice. The park is one of Grand Bahama Island?s unique experiences.?

Karin Sanchez spoke glowingly of B.W.A.?s donation. ?The Bahamas National Trust depends on donations to exist and carry out the work we have been mandated to do and now that we are celebrating our 50th anniversary, it is a great testament to see that we have such community minded corporate sponsors who recognize the importance of the work we do.? Sanchez stated that B.W.A. joins the group of corporate community contributors including Waugh Construction, Polymers International, GB Power Company, the Grand Bahama Port Authority, Harcourt Ltd. and Pelican Bay at Lucaya as well as many individuals.
