Grand Bahama Sailing Club does well at the Optimist Nationals

The Grand Bahama Sailing Club sent its junior team of 16
sailors to Nassau this weekend for the 2010 Bahamas Optimist National
Championship. The sailing team had been training 4 times a week in the past
month in order to prepare to compete against the top junior sailors in the
nation. Multiple islands were represented, with the largest showing of sailors
from Nassau Yacht Club. GBSC sailors were split into a Green fleet for novice
sailors and the Championship fleet for those who had previously competed. The
racing team looked very smart wearing their brand new pinnies, which made
spotting them on the racecourse much easier for the coaches.

On arrival, the team received a rare invitation to view Sir
Durward Knowles' private trophy room. The team got to see an Olympic bronze and
gold medal...
