80 of the Bahamas may be submerged

Eighty per cent of the Bahamas would be submerged if predictions about increased sea levels associated with global warming come to fruition, the Prime Minister has warned, adding that this nation was the fifth most vulnerable in the world.

Addressing the Inter-American Development Bank's (IDB) Caribbean Regional Forum on Friday, Mr Ingraham said it was critical for regional governments to seek resources from the organisation and Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to mitigate the impact of climate change.
