Founder and president Tru Bahamain food tours was founded by Rodgers, a young Bahamian social entrepreneur who has a passion for transformative community engagement.

Rodgers who has traveled extensively for business, sports and leisure, has summited Mount Kilimanjaro, dove with great white sharks in Cape Town, South Africa; bungee jumped over Victoria Falls; volunteered at an orphanage in Madagascar; competed in the World Tennis Championships in Prague and snorkeled over the Great Barrier Reef. Through her travels, she learned a deep appreciation for the role that cuisine plays in a country's unique character and cultural expression, and came to the realization that some of her most salient and memorable traveling experiences abroad were in fact related to the culinary traditions of the countries she visited.

Most recently, Rodgers, who founded Hands For Hunger, developed a global community outreach program as manager of charitable and community service initiatives for advertising company, MDC Partners. As a result of her experiences with both MDC Partners and Hands For Hunger, Rodgers has cultivated partnerships and earned goodwill among various members of the Bahamian culinary community.

After experiencing a local plantation spice tour on the island of Zanzibar, as well as a guided walking city tour in Chicago, Rodgers realized how powerful authentic cuisine could be as a vehicle for connecting curious visitors to the heart and soul of a country's community and culture. Inspired and commited to sharing and showcasing Nassau's own culinary gifts, she launched Tru Bahamas food tours which went live the first week of January.
