The Bahamas to take part in Caribbean Cup Karate Championships

The Bahamas has been invited to participate in the WUKO Caribbean Cup Karate Championships, that will take place at the Maloney Sports Complex in Maloney, Trinidad & Tobago, from November 24-25.
The two-day event is expected to feature Caribbean competitors from host country Trinidad & Tobago, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica and The Bahamas, as well as competitors from the United States, Canada, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico and Guyana. According to reports, a number of local teams from Trinidad & Tobago have also expressed much interest in participating.
The tournament is being organized by the Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation (TTKF) and will be the last major event for the year. For information and application forms, competitors are asked to log on to www.ttkf.org or send their e-mails to trinbagokarate4@yahoo.com. The event is sanctioned by the World United Karate Organization (WUKO) and Trinidad and Tobago's Ministry of Sports.
Among the organizations which will be taking part are the World Karate Academy (WKA), the Trinidad and Tobago Sport Martial Arts Elite, the Titus Academy of Martial Arts, the Peaceful Warriors Martial Arts International, the Blue Dragon Karate School (St.Lucia), the Association of Professional Martial Artists (APMA-St. Lucia), the Grenada Karate Federation, the Guyana Karate Association, the Bahamas Karate Association, the Hoben School of Karate, the Sei Chinte School of Karate, the Trinidad and Tobago Budo Kai, the Tobago Martial Arts Academy, the Panthers Martial Arts, the Tiger System Karate International (Lara), Ultimate Gym, the Seven hands Self-Defense, the Amethyst School of Martial Arts and Security Training, the Tiger Force Martial Arts International, the Trinidad and Tobago Budokan, the Cantaro Tiger System, DMS Karate, the Trinity Karate Dojo, the Goshindo Karate Dojo, the Unicorn Martial Arts Organization and the Bassai Karate Dojo - International.
For the first time, there will be a full contact division under the rules of kyokushin karate.
