GENERAL SITUATION: A DISSIPATING FRONTAL BOUNDARY ACROSS THE ISLANDS WILL INTERACT WITH A MID LEVEL TROUGH ACROSS THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS TODAY TO CREATE ISOLATED SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. A SECOND FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS ON SATURDAY AND CONTINUE MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD THROUGH SUNDAY EVENTUALLY STALLING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN BAHAMAS ON MONDAY.

A FAIRLY STRONG HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL BUILD BEHIND THE FRONT. BY WEDNESDAY AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IN THE SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN SEA IS TO RIDE NORTHWARD ALONG THE AFOREMENTIONED FRONT THEREBY INCREASING THUNDERSTORM AND SHOWER ACTIVITY ACROSS THE ISLANDS.

Thursday 18th – A Mix of Sun and Clouds and Warm during the day with Widely Scattered Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms mainly across the Northwest and Central Islands; Maximum Temperature 90°F. Partly Cloudy at night with Isolated Showers and a slight chance of early morning Isolated Thunderstorm; Minimum Temperature 75°F. Winds SE-S, 10-15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas; Seas 2-4 feet along with light E’LY swells. Winds E-SE 10-15 knots across the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 2-4 feet in light E’LY swells.

Winds SW-W, 10-15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas during the day, becoming N’LY 10-15 knots at night; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters. Mostly Fair and Breezy at night with Isolated passing Showers; Minimum Temperature 76ºF. Winds NE’LY 10-15 knots at first but increasing to 15 knots by late afternoon; Seas 2-4 feet building to 3-5 feet by sunset.
