KFC NASSAU JOINS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER.

NASSAU, Bahamas, 17 September 2012- With some marked improvement in some areas of the economy, the issue of hunger is still a major issue faced by many countries, including The Bahamas.

For the month of September, KFC Nassau has joined in the fight against hunger in raising funds to help eradicate this global crisis through the annual World Hunger Relief (WHR) campaign. Calling on its customers and staff to donate for those who have nothing, KFC Nassau will match any amounts raised in this fight against hunger.

The World Hunger Relief campaign raises awareness and funds, and helps to feed more than 90 million people worldwide in more than 70 countries through hunger relief agencies, such as Hands for Hunger in The Bahamas. To assist in mobilizing the public to fight against hunger in The Bahamas and worldwide, donations for this charitable cause can be made by visiting any of KFC Nassau’s nine locations.

"We are thankful to have the opportunity to provide continued support to the World Hunger Relief and to assist in raising awareness around this global issue. Hunger and poverty continue to be a crisis for many, and we’re encouraging the public and our team members to join in and contribute to making a difference for those affected within our communities," said Gabriel Sastre, Vice President and General Manager of Restaurants (Bahamas) Ltd.

Half of all funds raised through this KFC Nassau and World Hunger Relief initiative go directly to feeding people in the Bahamas through Hands for Hunger, a local hunger relief agency.
