STUDENT SHOT IN THE HEAD

An eight grade student of T. A. Thompson Junior High School was in critical condition in hospital last night after he was shot in the head while in the area of John and Blue Hill Roads, police said.
The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. as the boy was standing on a bus stop, not too far away from Naomi Blatch Primary School.
Police said when they arrived on the scene they met him lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
Superintendent Stephen Dean, officer in charge of the National Crime Prevention Office, told reporters it is believed the student was struck by a stray bullet.
