Leevan 'Superman' Sands was carted off the field after falling into the pit in the men's triple jump today. During his third attempt in the Men's triple jump, Sands' knee seemed to buckle underneath him mid air and he collapsed into the pit. Sands was sitting in fourth place at the time of the injury.
He had recorded a jump of 17.19m on his second attempt. The extent of Sands' injury is not known. The Nassau Guardian will update you as soon as it is revealed. Sands won the bronze medal in 2008, at the games held in Beijing, China.
