Team Bahamas to bowl strike in final rounds of Tournament of Americas

Bahamian bowlers competing in the Lee Evans Tournament of The Americas championships turned their attention to the team play segment, after racking up high rankings on the individual end.
A total of 36 games were played over a two-day period in the individual events. The games in the team's segment started late yesterday evening. No results were available up to press time. The 11 member team representing The Bahamas, as well as the other 17 countries from around the world, are playing at the Sawgrass Lanes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
At the conclusion of the individual round, Cedric Beckles and Johann Pyfrom were ranked in the top 30, in the adult men's division. Pyfrom had the better slating of the two at 26 and a score of 6,193 points. Beckles had added to his score of 3,910 points and closed with 5,930 points. The leader and division winner was Amleto Monacelli, of Venezuela, with 7,879 points. Americans Steven Smith and Jarret Mizo were second and third with 7,832 and 7,634 points respectively.
The Americans were out front in the women's division until Karen Marcano and Isabelle Rioux bowled a near prefect game to split the duo of Brenda Padilla and Tennelle Milligan.
Padilla held on and was crowned the winner with a 7,480 total, Marcano had 7,432 points and Rioux scored 7,296 points. Bahamians Michelle Lightbourne and Michelle Outten were listed 21 and 22 respectively. Lightbourne had a total of 5,529 points and Outten's score was 5,053 points.
Representing The Bahamas in the senior men's division are Earlin Bowe and Jethro Miller. A total of 6,160 points was scored by Bowe who was 14th while Miller had 6,025 points. The winner in this division was Arturo Hernandez, Brian Brazeau was second followed by Rogelio Felice of Venezuela.
Ranked 15th in the senior women is Marie Sealy and Stephanie Bowe was 17th. Sealy improved on her scoring in the remaining two sets of games. She closed with 5,174 points and Stephanie Bowe accumulated 5,317. The Bahamas was not represented in six divisions, these include the super senior women, the junior A and B men, junior A and B women divisions.
Pairing up in the mixed doubles adults were Outten and Pyfrom while Lightbourne and Beckles joined forces. The Bahamas would place 21st and 22nd in the division, thanks to the two teams. The seniors were Sealy and Miller who placed 10th overall with 2,089 points. Bowe and Bowe also entered the seniors division and finished 15th overall with 2,032 points
In the team's adult segment last year, The Bahamas was ranked 11th overall with 3,678 points. A ninth and fifth place ranking was turned in on the senior and super senior side.
